Electric service
NV Energy, headquartered in Las Vegas, is the sole electricity provider in the Neon City, making choosing a provider straightforward and hassle-free. To get started, simply call 702-402-5555 or go online at nvenergy.com.
Setting up service online is your quickest option. To open a new account at your new Las Vegas home, go to the Start Service (Iniciar el servicio) page. Enter basic information, including your address, social security number, and contact information. Then, follow the prompts to choose the date you want service to begin. You may be able to get same-day or next-day service, but we recommend scheduling service several days ahead of time.
If you’re moving to a new neighborhood in Vegas, click on Trasladar Servicio and enter your account information to submit a service transfer request. Your electricity will usually be connected within 24 hours; however, we recommend requesting a service transfer of service about one week in advance.

Natural gas connection
Southwest Gas Corporation is your natural gas source in Las Vegas. To start service in your new home, visit swgas.com and create an account to Start Service (Iniciar el servicio). You'll be prompted to enter your name, social security number, service address, and the date you want gas turned on at your new home. You may schedule your request up to 30 days in advance. Once you're up and running, you can manage your account, pay bills, and monitor your usage. You may also call customer service at 877-860-6020 for further assistance.
If you already have an account and are moving to a new area of Las Vegas, go to MyAccount, click on Transfer Service, and follow the quick, easy process.
Water and sewer hookup
Las Vegas Valley Water District serves metropolitan Las Vegas and surrounding areas for water and sewer services. To begin service, register to create an account at llvwd.com or call 702-870-4194. You'll be asked to provide your name, date of birth, address, contact information, and the date you'd like service to begin. In some cases, you may have to pay an activation fee and a refundable security deposit. You may also be required to provide a lease agreement or proof of ownership.
To transfer service from your previous Las Vegas address to your new home, simply go to your account and request a transfer of service. Provide your current address, new address, and the preferred disconnection and start dates. Transfer or activation fees may be required.
Trash collection and recycling
As you get set up in your new home, you’ll have plenty of boxes and other moving materials that need to be discarded or recycled. Republic Services contracts with the city to provide residential trash and recycling pickup. They offer convenient curbside service and provide safe, sustainable solutions for waste disposal. Dumpster rentals are also available for DIYers who want to give their new home a facelift.
