Aprovecha el poder de Internet multigiga. Consulta si las velocidades de hasta 8 Gig están disponibles en tu área.
Moving to a new city like Orlando brings exciting possibilities, from meeting new friends and neighbors to establishing new routines and services. Getting settled can be both fun and challenging. Let our utility guide remove some of the potential frustration by helping you set up fiber internet, electricity, gas, water, and trash pickup at your new place.
Finding fast, reliable fiber internet for your home in Orlando is a top priority for most new residents. Quantum Fiber delivers speeds up to 940 Mbps and multi-gig speeds up to 8 Gig in select areas. That's enough bandwidth for serious internet usage, whether you're a marathon gamer or a commercial video editor.
Quantum Fiber is constantly expanding our coverage as an internet provider in Orlando. To see if Quantum Fiber is available, search for your address. If it's available at your new residence, select the connection speed that's right for you. Our most popular plan gives you up to 940 Mbps and unlimited data. For households that need even more speed, you can get multi-gig speeds with the industry's first WiFi CERTIFIED 7™ device. Quantum Fiber also provides maximum flexibility with no annual contracts and Price for Life plans that let you keep your internet service monthly rate for as long as you keep your plans. La tarifa mensual del servicio de Internet está sujeta a la disponibilidad continua del plan.
It's best to order internet at least two weeks before moving in. Your technician will explain how to set up the internet at your new house and can also optimize your Quantum Fiber® 360 WiFi® network, an optional service that blankets your home with coverage. Internet installation typically takes about two hours and requires an adult 18 years of age or older to be there for the appointment.
Existing Quantum Fiber customers in Orlando can easily transfer service from their previous residence to their new address. Simply contact our customer service team at 833-250-6306. We'll cancel your service at the old address and show you how to transfer internet service when moving to a new neighborhood.
Now that you've set up your internet service, it's time to turn on the power and the rest of your utilities. Here's what you need to know to set up electricity, water, gas, and find your trash and recycling collection days.
Electric and water service
The Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) is a municipally owned public utility that provides both electric and water service to Orlando residents. To set up a new account, visit the Start, Stop, Move Service page at OUC.com. New customers must register before they can log in and submit a request for new service. You can also call 407-423-9018 and select "start service" from the menu options. If you're outside the OUC service area, check your address with Duke Energy for electric utility service and Orange County Utilities for water.
Natural gas connection
For natural gas in Orlando, contact Peoples Gas to start or transfer service. If your home doesn't have gas appliances like a gas stove or water heater, natural gas service may not be needed. You can check availability by ZIP Code on the Peoples Gas website.
Trash collection and recycling
The City of Orlando's Solid Waste Division handles trash and recycling services for Orlando residents. If your home doesn't already have trash and recycling bins, you can request them from the city online or by calling 407-246-2314. You can also check trash, recycling, and yard waste pickup dates by searching your home address. The city also has a composting program that you may be eligible for. If you live in unincorporated Orange County, waste services are handled by Orange County Utilities, which provides residents with trash and recycling bins. Pickup is once a week, and you can find your schedule by searching your address aquí.
As a hub for the entertainment, tech, and aerospace industries, Orlando attracts new residents every day who are eager to become part of the excitement. Now that you've set up your new home, it's time to head outside and get to know the city better. Luckily, the weather is sunny and warm year-round, making outdoor activities like paddling the Winter Park Chain of Lakes a great way to spend time. If you're a fan of the theme parks, take advantage of annual passes for Florida residents that give you substantial cost savings and let you visit the parks throughout the year. Universal Orlando’s Florida resident pass is $100 less than a regular season pass, while Disney offers passes exclusive to Florida residents.
If theme parks aren't your speed, the Orlando nightlife offers everything from dance clubs and cocktail bars to craft breweries and live music. When you're done exploring and ready to chill at home, Quantum Fiber high-speed internet will have you streaming your favorite movies and games with fast, reliable WiFi that doesn’t slow you down.
