The Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) is a municipally owned public utility that provides both electric and water service to Orlando residents. To set up a new account, visit the Start, Stop, Move Service page at OUC.com. New customers must register before they can log in and submit a request for new service. You can also call 407-423-9018 and select "start service" from the menu options. If you're outside the OUC service area, check your address with Duke Energy for electric utility service and Orange County Utilities for water.
Natural gas connection
For natural gas in Orlando, contact Peoples Gas to start or transfer service. If your home doesn't have gas appliances like a gas stove or water heater, natural gas service may not be needed. You can check availability by ZIP Code on the Peoples Gas website.
Trash collection and recycling
The City of Orlando's Solid Waste Division handles trash and recycling services for Orlando residents. If your home doesn't already have trash and recycling bins, you can request them from the city online or by calling 407-246-2314. You can also check trash, recycling, and yard waste pickup dates by searching your home address. The city also has a composting program that you may be eligible for. If you live in unincorporated Orange County, waste services are handled by Orange County Utilities, which provides residents with trash and recycling bins.
